It’s finally out. Toronto’s “Young Governor” is Ben Cook’s (Fucked Up, The Bitters, Marvelous Darlings, No Warning, …) solo/one-man band, garage-punk oriented. This release is not only a 7″ vinyl but also a 104 pages book collecting illustrations, stories and photos from artists all over the world.

The Young Governor vinyl is right now on the pressing plant. Things will go slow since the book isn’t on the pressing plant yet. It is looking great so far and Im really excited to see how it turns out.
Before the end of the year there will also be a new book coming through Sleep City. Its a colaboration with Chilli Com Cane and features a collection of illustrators around the globe.
Some exhibitions and more new stuff coming soon aswell.

This is a very important show for the people behind Sleep City Records. It marks the end of a generation of bands, and its the last show of one of the best portuguese punk-hardcore bands. It’s also a benefit show for a pedagogic re-education college. Poster by Sleep City and Camião. Show up!

Lobster / The Sound of Typewriters split 7″ OUT NOW!
This is a split record between 4 friends that besides this 2 bands have millions of others in the same rehearsal space.
Lobster and sound of typewriters are both a duo. Lobster have guitars and drums, Sound of Typewriters have bass and drums. Both suit the post-rock genre but each one do it on their own way. I think both bands have much better songs here than on their previous releases and I’m curious to see what they will do next. Its a split release between Sleep City and Rock it Records, from Portugal aswell. Pink vinyl! 5€

Afraid!

Sleep City records is also part of the FUNF collective. We book shows around Portugal and next tuesday our italian friends from “Afraid!” are coming to town. The show will be at “Século”, 21:00, 5€. “Adorno” is also playing.

SC #2!

While records are still on the pressing plant (the split7″ is planned to be out during August), the second release getting a Sleep City stamp is a zine collaboration between Bráulio Amado (Portugal), Patrick Kindlon (USA) and Rita Luis (Spain).
